More and more people nowadays, in their quest for organic and more economical products, resort to growing their own vegetables. That can either be done outdoors, in a garden, in a greenhouse or even indoors, in pots, planters and raised beds. As a proof that vegetables don’t actually grow in the supermarket, you can acquire seeds for any common vegetable and grow it yourself. Actually, the variety is by far greater when choosing seeds, as exotic variations are available as well.
Growing commonly used vegetables such as peas, beans, broccoli, cabbage, lettuce, spinach, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, beetroot, carrots, courgette, turnips, leaks, red peppers, cucumbers, aubergines, fennel, sweet corn, strawberries, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms and onions in your own home has never been easier. You can also extend to more oriental vegetables such as the radish, artichoke, celery, celeriac and parsnip. In addition to this, your essential spices and herbs needn’t come in a bag or a jar anymore, as it is much more convenient to grow your own cress, rocket, oregano, mint, lemongrass, coriander, basil, chives, garlic chives, mustard, parsley and chillies, having them at your disposal whenever needed. What is more, if you have enough space, you can also grow melons, pumpkins, watermelons, squash and so forth.
And you don’t have to limit your options to indigenous or very common vegetables either, as you can purchase seeds for exotic ones, such as Chinese cabbage, or oddities such as purple carrots, yellow and orange cucumbers, purple cauliflower, light purple striped aubergines, oval yellow tomatoes, golden yellow courgettes and purple broccoli.
