For garden owners, there is nothing more delightful than hearing birds chirping freely in their gardens and knowing that they feel safe and welcome there. For that reason, many people designate certain spaces for bird feeders and bird habitats and regularly make sure there is something in them for their feathered companions to relish on.
Bird feeders resembling flowers are very much endeared as they are inconspicuous when placed among other flowers. Their lovely appearance hides healthy bits of dried fruit which are a real treat for birds. Other popular feeders are also known as hanging circles and greatly resemble birds’ nests hanging from the branch of a tree. Moreover, multi bird feeders are also available, in order to provide more birds at one time with a nutritious meal. Others are categorised as nut and seed feeders, birds’ nutrition bars and so forth.
As for the food one is supposed to place inside them, it varies according to each season, to the birds you are expecting and other criteria such as the vegetable or animal origin of the product. Mealworms, for instance, are a very consistent source of nourishment, and so are nuts, seeds and fruit bits. You can find them as individual products or in variety packs, some destined for certain species of birds. In addition to these types of food, you can treat the wild birds visiting your garden to ‘’bird cupcakes’’, the main ingredient being cooking fat. You can purchase kits for making these cupcakes and place them in special bird feeders which allow optimal access for birds.
